July 2025 Heal + Create Member Sessions

July brings long days and a little more room to breathe—a chance to come back to what feels real.

These gatherings offer quiet space for reflection, creativity, and connection.

Your presence brings this community to life—and we’re grateful you’re here.

Mending Circle with Susan Wolfe

When you repair a hole in an old piece of clothing, you have to explore the cloth around the hole until you find fabric solid enough to hold your patch. If you sew too close to the hole, the fabric will be weak, and you’ll just make a larger hole. But if you’re patient, and learn the territory, you can make the fabric stronger than it was before.

This is true of cultures too.
And communities.
And families.
And selves.

Join me the first Saturday of the month to discuss mending.
Bring a physical item that you want to mend, a question, your expertise, your beautiful self.
Come to talk, to work, or to listen.

Let’s talk about mending: mending torn shirts and missing buttons, mending old hurts, relationships, maybe even mending this aching world.

Silent Reading with Jacob Nordby

Sometimes the simplest things—like sitting quietly with a good book—can feel like a real gift.

This gathering is just that: a gentle pause in the rush of life.

Bring something you’ve been wanting to read. We’ll begin with a short check-in and guided visualization to help us settle in, then enjoy 45 minutes of quiet reading together.

Afterward, you’re welcome to share a thought or just stay in that peaceful space.

Just you, your book, and a bit of stillness. You’re warmly invited.

Cooking Circle with Emily

Join Emily for a nourishing morning in the kitchen as we make a vibrant and comforting red lentil soup — a one-pot wonder that’s as hearty as it is healthy. Whether you're a seasoned home cook or just trying not to burn the garlic, this soup is forgiving, flavorful, and fast.

Together, we'll simmer red lentils with aromatic spices, veggies, and a splash of citrus at the end to brighten it all up. This dish is naturally plant-based, packed with protein, and perfect for cozy weeknight dinners—or for impressing people who think soup can't be exciting.

Bring your own chopping board, favorite mug, and a good attitude. We’ll laugh, we’ll stir, and by the end, we’ll all have a bowl of something beautiful to show for it.

NOTE: Please read the recipe and gather the ingredients ahead of the session. This recipe makes 8 hearty servings and you are free to cut it in half if you don't need that much. The soup also refrigerates well and is delicious as leftovers! CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD RECIPE

Show + Tell with Meredith Morckel

Join us for the monthly Show+Tell event with Meredith “Mere” Morckel where you can share what you’ve created and discuss creativity! We invite you to show off any form of your imperfect and unpolished art: your writing, painting, clothing, photography, sandcastle, and more! Expect affirmation, encouragement, and support from your fellow members.

After that we’ll enjoy a discussion together, answering questions such as:

What do you find most healing about the act of creation?

What is life asking you to create and/or heal?

How important is creativity?

We look forward to celebrating the diverse and beautiful ways you express yourself!

July Gathering with Jacob Nordby

Theme: Reclaiming Joy in a Changing World

Each month, Jacob hosts a circle of reflection—a place to breathe, re-center, and connect with deeper meaning.

This July, we’ll explore what it means to reclaim joy—not as a fleeting moment, but as a quiet, sustainable strength. Through meditation, writing prompts, and open-hearted sharing, we’ll find our way back to what feels real and nourishing.

Bring a candle, a journal, or whatever helps you settle into the moment.
