A Live Journey through The Artist's Way

Creative Recovery

Twelve Sunday mornings with an intimate cohort. Walk the path back to a part of yourself that’s gone silent.

Opening session with Julia Cameron • Guided by Jacob Nordby  ·  Live on Zoom  ·  Begins September 27th

Something inside feels missing?

Remember the tingle of inspiration – the aliveness? Wake up in the morning with a bright, clear inner sky. You have ideas, and the energy you need is easy to find. Somewhere along the way, the landscape turned flat and difficult. It's not exactly a crisis; you're still going through the right motions. But you miss your spark. You miss the feeling that your life and work matter.

And maybe you’ve never called yourself “creative.” But you feel the absence of something, and you’re tired of pretending you don’t.

You're not broken, you just need to find the way back home to yourself
– Meet Your Teacher

Julia Cameron

The New York Times calls Julia Cameron "The Queen of Change." Since its publication, her book The Artist's Way has been the foundational text for creative recovery worldwide — translated into more than forty languages, with over six million copies in print. It is credited with bringing creativity into conversation in the arts, in business, and in everyday life. The author of more than forty books, she is a poet, songwriter, filmmaker, and playwright. She teaches tools grounded in practice, not theory, and calls herself "the floor sample of my own toolkit." [juliacameronlive.com]

– Meet Your Guide

Jacob Nordby

Jacob is the author of several books, including The Creative Cure and Blessed Are the Weird. He has guided people through The Artist’s Way for more than a decade.

He leads this work not as theory, but as a path he walks daily — and across these twelve weeks, he's the one who walks it with you.

– A Special Opening

Beginning with Julia Cameron

On the first Sunday, September 27, Julia herself joins Jacob to teach the foundational practices at the heart of the method. From there, the twelve weeks are where those practices get lived and become your own. Julia opens the door; Jacob walks you through the full journey, one Sunday at a time.

– The Method

The tools Julia teaches you

Since 1992, The Artist's Way has guided millions of people back into vital connection with themselves — through a handful of deceptively simple practices.

In the opening session, Julia teaches these tools herself. Over the twelve weeks that follow, you put them to work — until they're not a course you took, but the way you live your life.

Morning Pages

Three pages, longhand, first thing. The most transformative habit in the whole method.

Artist's Dates

A weekly, solo, deliberate refilling of the well — time set aside to feed your senses & imagination.

Walks

Movement as a way of hearing yourself think, and letting answers surface on their own.

Guidance & Synchronicity

Learning to notice — and trust — the inner voice that begins to speak as you pay attention.

"Success occurs in clusters and is born in generosity."

– Julia Cameron

Perhaps you'll see yourself here
You used to fill notebooks, but they’ve been blank for years.
You've built good things — a business, a family, a career, a life — and the well that once fed them feels dry.
You’re standing at a threshold — a divorce, an empty house, a reinvention — but you struggle to find the version of yourself who knows where it wants to go.
You make things for a living, and lately every attempt feels like pushing on a door that won’t budge.
You’ve never called yourself “creative.” But you feel the absence of something, and you’re tired of pretending you don’t.

FAQs

No. The Artist’s Way is for anyone who feels cut off from their own aliveness, instinct, or sense of direction. You don’t need a craft or a body of work. You need only the willingness to show up and do the practices.

The full journey is the complete twelve-week program — every Sunday from September 27 onward, beginning with Julia's opening session and continuing with Jacob through the eleven weeks that follow. The opening session is just that first Sunday with Julia on September 27, plus a replay to revisit afterward. It's a way to begin if you're not ready to commit to all twelve weeks — and if it calls you further, you can step into the full journey, and your payment carries over (see below).

Yes — it's built to be easy. If you come to the opening session and feel the pull to keep going, the $97 you paid applies in full toward the full journey; you simply pay the difference. We'll make the offer during the opening session itself, and it stays open for a short window afterward, so you're never deciding on the spot — and if you watched by replay, you'll have the same chance to join.

Julia opens the program — she teaches the first Sunday live, laying down the foundational practices at the heart of the whole method. From there, Jacob guides the cohort through the remaining eleven weeks. Think of it this way: Julia hands you the tools; the weeks that follow are where you put them to work — with company, with support — until they're your own.

For full 12-week program members only:

Aside from the live weekly Zoom sessions of about one hour, you are free to tailor the time you spend each week to fit your schedule. Morning Pages generally need 30-45 minutes; Artist's Dates take as little as one hour or longer, depending on your available time and imagination; Walks (or other intentional movement if walking is difficult) run about twenty minutes.

If your schedule makes attending all Zoom sessions difficult, you are free to participate as often as possible for you! These sessions are valuable opportunities to share, connect, and compare notes with your cohort members – but we also have the private Facebook group available as an option to stay connected between sessions.

Every session is recorded, and you’ll have full access to the replays for twelve weeks after the program has concluded. The live cohort is the heart of it, but life happens — nothing is lost.

A quiet spot, a device with Zoom, and your own copy of The Artist’s Way. A notebook and a pen for your Morning Pages, and you’re ready.

Our opening session with Julia — Sunday, September 27 — begins at 1:00 PM Pacific (2 Mountain · 3 Central · 4 Eastern). Every Sunday after that, we gather at 9:00 AM Pacific (10 Mountain · 11 Central · 12 Noon Eastern). We'll send reminders with dates and times before we begin. If you're outside the US, a converter like World Time Buddy will help you match these to your area.

We seek to keep enrollment prices modest to make this accessible to as many as possible. With that in mind, we do not offer refunds – but you will have full access to the video replays with all session materials for 12 weeks after this series has ended. If you have a serious emergency or other unforeseen event, we will issue a refund on a case-by-case basis.
